The meeting discussed strengthening economic and trade cooperation between Iraq and Türkiye and supporting partnerships between the private sectors of both countries, in light of the significant role Turkish companies have played in Iraq’s reconstruction projects.

It reviewed the main obstacles facing traders and businesspeople, led by procedures at border crossings and obtaining entry visas, as well as the Council’s administrative and technical needs: a dedicated headquarters, staff and logistics.

Al-Hamdani stressed the importance of political and economic support for the Council and the need for specialist advisers. The meeting also covered the business councils of the Arab countries and Türkiye and preparations for the conference planned for December.

Participants agreed to designate a headquarters for the Council and discussed the Turkish delegation’s visit. A follow-up meeting was set for November 2026.
